How did your journey as an author begin?
I went from teaching the Sunday school lessons at my church to turning my notes from the lessons into a book. As a Sunday school teacher, I would write down word for word about my experience as it pertained to each lesson. In each lesson sharing a bit about my personal life to further relate to my audience. Eventually, I wanted to share with a bigger audience and so Crooked Path was born.
Was it something you always wanted to pursue?
Not initially, although I always enjoyed writing it never crossed my mind that I would be a published author.
Who or what motivated you to write?
I was encouraged by one of my mentors at the church to write a book. I would kindly smile at the compliment but never put much thought into it. Then one day I was moved spiritually to go forth and share my writings with other people outside of my church.
How was the publishing process?
The process was a lot easier than I expected. Amazon publishing walks you through step by step.
Since becoming a published author, what challenges have you faced if any?
My challenge would be perhaps marketing and promoting my book. I did okay initially when I first released the book but now my sales haven’t picked up. My concern is I just want this book to be in the hands of people who need it.
Are you currently working on any new projects? If so when can we expect them to be released?
No
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
All of my businesses are well established and living comfortably with my husband and our children.
What’s your favorite quote and who’s it by?
My favorite quote is actually one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13
If you could co-author with anyone – dead or alive – who would it be?
I’m not sure but would love the opportunity with anyone if ever presented to me.
