Interview With Winn Publications

How did your journey as an author begin?

My journey as an author began around when I was 15 years old. I would write poems while I was in high school and I enjoyed writing. I told my family that I would publish a book someday.

Was it something you always wanted to pursue?

Yes.

Who or what motivated you to write?

A lot of different things. Experiences in my life, observing things around me, music, and other kinds of inspiration gave me the motivation to write.

Have you published your writings in a book? If so, where can we find it/them?

Yes, I have 2 published poetry books and one published screenplay

How was the publishing process?

It was somewhat easy until you trying to explain to the publishing company about your vision and how you want your book laid out. Sometimes people don’t see or understand what you see. But other than that, it was no problem.

Are you self-published?

Yes.

Since becoming a published author, what challenges have you faced if any?

Marketing for sure!

Have you written anything outside of fiction/nonfiction?

A screenplay.

Do you have a tip that you can offer your peers (poets and writers worldwide)?

I would say just get started and not be afraid to write out your story. I know there can be a great anxiety for most people writing their first book. Make you continuously market yourself. Be authentic and have confidence in yourself. Study your craft. Learn from other’s mistakes. Avoid scams if possible and just have fun writing your book.

Are you currently working on any new projects? If so when can we expect them to be released?

Yes for my screenplay and I’m projecting a 2022 release date. I also have a 3rd book coming out to complete my Face of Expression series.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Becoming a best-selling author, being married, having kids, and traveling.12. What does being an author mean to you?

What’s your favorite quote and who’s it by?

Omg I have so many but if I could choose one I would say it’s “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

If you could co-author with anyone – dead or alive – who would it be?

I would say I would have loved to have collaborated with DMX and/or Maya Angelou (RIP).
